Woman critically injured in hit-and-run accident in Queens

QUEENS, NY-  A 59-year-old woman was left with critical injuries following a hit-and-run collision in Queens on Monday morning.

The victim was crossing the street, inside a crosswalk, at Queens Boulevard and 80th Road when she was hit by a beige Toyota Camry. The accident occurred around 8:40 AM. The victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital with critical injuries. 

The driver apparently got out of his vehicle to see what happened before getting back into his car and speeding off. Authorities are still attempting to locate him.
