NYPD officer injured in hit-and-run accident in the East Village

(NEW YORK, January 2020) — A NYPD police officer was injured in a hit-and-run accident in the East Village on Tuesday night. 45-year-old Franklin Liz was driving on Houston Street when he slammed into a cop car.

He fled after the accident but was soon arrested. One officer was transported to the hospital with a severe leg injury.
