21-year-old killed after collision with utility pole

NORTH MASSAPEQUA, NY- 21-year-old Anthony Cardillo was killed when he struck a utility pole in North Massapequa early Friday morning.

The volunteer firefighter was traveling on North Broadway at around 5:18 AM when he hit a utility pole at the intersection of North Pine Street. He was declared dead at St. Joseph's hospital.

An investigation into the accident is still open.
