SUNNYSIDE, QUEENS – A suspected drunk driver has been arrested following a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in Queens over the weekend, WABC reports.

The NYPD was called to the scene Saturday afternoon after being notified of the incident at 47th Street and Queens Boulevard in the Sunnyside neighborhood.

An investigation determined that the driver of a Hyundai Genesis struck multiple vehicles and a 14-year-old pedestrian shortly before 3 p.m.  The teenage girl who was hit and seven other people suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, and were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The alleged driver of the Hyundai, identified as 33-year-old Michael Moreno of Dutchess County, was arrested for the incident.  He now faces multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated and refusal to take a breathalyzer test.

The report said Moreno previously six years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 27-year-old bicycle rider in the Bronx in 2015.
