HARLEM, NY – A multi-vehicle accident at an intersection in Harlem last week sent four people to the hospital, according to WCBS.

Police responded to the scene in the area of Lenox Avenue and West 119th Street after the crash occurred Wednesday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m.

Three cars were involved in the wreck that was caused by a speeding BMW, WABC reported. The BMW caught fire as a result of the collision.

Two men and two women were left unconscious due to the crash, including the BMW driver. All were rushed to area hospitals, where one of the women was reported to be in critical condition.

An area bodega worker was quoted as saying he rushed to the scene with a fire extinguisher to put out the fire and help save the driver trapped in the wreckage.

No charges were immediately filed in the case as the NYPD continues their investigation.
