CONCOURSE VILLAGE, THE BRONX – Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that killed an employee of a car wash in the Bronx, according to amNewYork.

The crash took place Sunday morning at the Speedway car wash, located on Webster Avenue in the Concourse Village section of the borough.

Police said it happened as the employee was drying off a customer’s Toyota Rav4 SUV.  The driver of a Ford Escape SUV was headed south on Webster Avenue, veered into the bus lane and struck the Toyota as it was parked.  The impact caused the Toyota to collide with a parked Nissan Altima sedan.

The car wash employee was pinned between the Ford and the Toyota.  The victim, identified as 47-year-old Felix Thomas Bontia of Allerton, was pronounced dead after being taken to Lincoln Hospital.

The Toyota driver sustained minor injures and was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital.  Police said the Ford came to a stop down the block, and the driver and passenger both got out and fled the scene. The NYPD is now searching for the two occupants of the Ford.
