PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN – One person was killed and another was injured when their car went off an overpass in Brooklyn last week.

WABC reports the accident occurred Dec. 30 in the area of Vanderbilt Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in the Prospect Heights section of the borough.

Investigators determined that a 70-year-old man was driving an Audi Q5 at about 12:44 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle after suffering some type of medical episode.

The car went over a barrier and landed in a Long Island Rail Road train yard below.  It was believed that the car had fallen about 30 feet.  The driver, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead after being taken to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.  He was identified as Francois Cadely of Canarsie, Brooklyn, according to the Daily News.

A 60-year-old woman who was in the passenger in the car was transported to the same hospital and was listed in critical condition.
