BRONX, NY – A collision involving a bus and a minivan in the Bronx Sunday night left at least ten people injured, WCBS reports.

The incident took place in the West Farms section of the borough at about 7 p.m.  Investigators said a  minivan with TLC plates rear-ended an MTA bus on East 180th Street near Mohegan Avenue.  The impact caused the bus to hit a four-door Nissan sedan, while the minivan caught on fire.

Seven of those injured were transported to area hospitals, while three others were treated at the scene.  No passengers were aboard the van.

The crash shut down a portion of East 180th Street while police and emergency crews responded.

Police do not believe there was any criminality involved in the incident.  Neighbors told WABC the driver of the minivan drives a car service for seniors and people with disabilities.

They indicated he may suffered a medical episode prior to the crash, but this was yet to be determined by investigators.
