MIDWOOD, BROOKLYN – Seven people were injured when a driver trying to elude police collided with an MTA bus in Brooklyn last Tuesday, authorities said.

According to a WNBC report, the incident began when NYPD officers tried to pull over a vehicle after a 911 call that someone had a gun in the car. Law enforcement sources said the driver sped away from the attempted traffic stop and was briefly pursued before police stopped the chase.  A short time later, the car slammed into the bus in the vicinity of McDonald Avenue and Avenue N in the Midwood section of the borough at about 2 p.m.

Seven people sustained minor injuries in the crash and were transported to area hospitals.  Among the injured were the driver of the bus and three people who were in the car.

The driver of the car was arrested following the crash.  The NYPD is continuing its investigation into the incident.
