QAUEENS, NY – A man is facing charges in connection with a fatal accident in Queens, according to a report by WPIX.
The Queens County District Attorney’s Office announced the indictment of 27-year-old Adama Diakite for the crash that took place on October 6, 2020.
It happened in the area of North Conduit Avenue and 122nd Street in South Ozone Park. According to prosecutors, Diakite was behind the wheel of a Nissan Altima when the vehicle went past a guardrail, collided with a tree, and went up in flames.
Three passengers in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene – 21-year-old Ali Mohammed, 20-year-old Kimani Foster, and 19-year-old Dior Berkeley. Diakite was hospitalized in stable condition.
Diakite was alleged to have been impaired at the time of the accident, prosecutors said. Diakite was indicted on multiple charges, including manslaughter, aggravated vehicular homicide and criminally negligent homicide.
