Sarah Jessica Parker

While she was born in Ohio, Sarah Jessica Parker has spent much of her life as a New York institution, having grown up on Roosevelt Island and commuting to Broadway for the titular orphan Annie. She and her husband, Matthew Broderick, live in Greenwich Village.

Denzel Washington

New Yorker Denzel Washington was born in Westchester County to a father who worked for the New York City Water Department. Kevin Bacon

Though born and raised a few hours south on I-95 in Philadelphia, actor Kevin Bacon and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, maintain a home on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Hang around the upper 80s long enough, and you might find yourself fewer than six degrees separated from the Footloose star.

Madonna

Don’t let the accent fool you: pop superstar Madonna has long been a New York fixture, going back to her days working the coat check at the Russian Tea Room by day and drumming in Breakfast Club at night. The Material Girl currently maintains a 57-foot-wide townhome on the Upper East Side.

Roman Abramovich

Born in Russia and most famous for formerly owning Chelsea of the English Premier League, billionaire Roman Abramovich spends much of his time in New York, where he has been attempting to build one of the city’s largest private residences.
