SOUTHAMPTON, LONG ISLAND – A driver is facing several charges in connection with a car accident that happened on Long Island last week, according to Patch Southampton.
The crash involving three vehicles took place Tuesday night in the area of County Road 39 and Sandy Hollow Road in Tuckahoe.
According to police, two people were injured when the vehicles collided in the westbound lane of County Road 39 at about 9:20 p.m. The injuries were not regarded as life-threatening.
One of the drivers involved, 47-year-old Gabriel Urbano of Southampton, was arrested following the incident. He now faces several charges, including aggravated DWI, following too closely, and unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Urbano was held at Southampton Town police headquarters to be processed.
The accident resulted in one of the vehicles having a fuel leak. The area around the crash scene was shut down for about an hour and traffic was diverted while police and emergency crews were responding.
