VALLEY STREAM, LONG ISLAND – Authorities on Long Island said an alleged drunk driver was arrested following a collision that injured another driver last week, the Nassau Daily Voice reports.

The accident occurred Sept. 24 in Valley Stream, near the intersection of Merrick Road and Rockaway Avenue.

Investigators said the driver of a 2020 BMW was headed west on Merrick Road at about 4 a.m. when she crashed head-on into a 2020 Chevrolet driven by a 51-year-old woman.  The driver of the Chevrolet was seriously injured and rushed to an area hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the BMW, identified as 33-year-old Keyana Mccray of Brooklyn, and her passenger, a 43-year-old man, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were both hospitalized.

Police said Mccray was driving while intoxicated and she was charged with two counts of DWI, along with vehicular assault and assault.  Her arraignment was to be held when it was medically practical.
