News: Motorcycle rider killed in collision with car on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, NY – A motorcycle and a car were involved in a deadly collision on Staten Island last week, the New York Police Department said.

According to the Staten Island Advance, the incident happened Thursday night in the vicinity of Hylan Boulevard and Nelson Avenue in the Great Kills section of the borough.

An initial investigation found that a man was riding a motorcycle north on Hylan Boulevard at about 11:22 p.m. and was struck by a southbound Dodge Charger whose driver was trying to make a left turn from Hylan onto Nelson Avenue.

Police found the motorcycle rider, 25-year-old Jordan Urbina of Greenridge, lying in the roadway.  He was pronounced dead after being taken to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.  The driver of the Dodge, an 18-year-old, was not injured.

The NYPD is continuing its investigation into the accident and so far there have been no arrests.
