MANORVILLE, LONG ISLAND – Authorities said a car accident at a Long Island intersection last week left a man and a woman dead.
According to a report by Newsday, the crash took place on Monday afternoon, Feb. 6, in the town of Manorville in Suffolk County. Police responded to the scene on Wading River Road near North Street at about 3:15 p.m.
Investigators determined that a man was driving a 2019 Ford van southbound on Wading River Road when the vehicle went off the roadway and crashed into a tree near Saints Peter and Paul Church.
The driver and a woman riding with him were both pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as 50-year-old Kevin Vollmer of Huntington Station and 49-year-old Antoinette Mullings-Joseph of Huntington.
Suffolk County Police are investigating the cause of the wreck, and have impounded the vehicle for a safety check. Anyone with further information about what happened was asked to contact detectives with the Seventh Squad.
