EAST ELMHURST, QUEENS – A collision in Queens last week claimed the life of a 26-year-old motorcycle rider, according to the Jackson Heights Post.

The incident happened Oct. 8 at the intersection of 31st Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard in East Elmhurst.  Investigators with the NYPD said that Chris Guachichulca was riding a 2013 Suzuki motorcycle south on Ditmars Boulevard at about 6:30 p.m. when he collided with the side of a 2013 BMW SUV as that driver tried to turn left onto 31st Avenue.  Guachichulca was thrown from the motorcycle onto the pavement and was hit by a northbound 2018 Mazda SUV.

Police and EMS crews arrived to find the victim in the roadway.   Guachichulca, a resident of Shirley, Long Island, was pronounced dead after being transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Queens.

The drivers of the two SUVs were not injured in the crash and both stayed at the scene.  The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
