STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, NY – A motorcyclist was hospitalized following a collision with a car in Staten Island on Friday night, according to the Staten Island Advance.
The incident took place on Forest Avenue near Ordell Avenue in the Port Richmond section of the borough at about 9:30 p.m.
Investigators said a driver heading east on Forest Avenue was trying to make a left hand turn into the driveway of a Taco Bell restaurant. A motorcyclist who was also going east tried to drive around the other vehicle, and the two ended up colliding.
The motorcycle rider was thrown from the bike and was taken to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton. The motorcyclist was reported to have serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad was requested to respond to the accident.
