Carrie Schieda is a medical malpractice paralegal at Finz & Finz, P.C. Ms. Schieda has over 25 years of paralegal experience, including 10 years as a New York court stenographer. She plays a critical role on the firm’s medical malpractice team, assisting the firm’s attorneys in all aspects of medical malpractice litigation, from inception through discovery and trial. She is particularly skilled in drafting comprehensive pleadings and discovery demands and responses.
Ms. Schieda is a diligent worker with a strong track record of leaving no stone unturned and meeting tight deadlines when assisting the firm’s attorneys in trial preparation. She utilizes her deep understanding of medical malpractice litigation and her exceptional communication skills to help the firm retain some of the nation’s leading medical experts to testify at trial on behalf of the firm’s clients – a precondition to maximizing jury verdicts and significant case settlements. She also has an expertise in researching and compiling adverse information pertaining to defendant doctors and hospitals. This information is critically important to the medical malpractice attorneys of Finz & Finz, P.C. and is used to undermine the credibility of defendants during cross examination at trial.
Ms. Schieda understands the importance of, and advocates for, obtaining full and fair compensation for the firm’s medical malpractice clients, many of whom have suffered life-altering injuries. Ms. Schieda earned her Bachelor of Arts from Queens College, City University of New York, and her court stenographer license from the Court Reporting Institute. Before becoming a court stenographer and a paralegal, Ms. Schieda worked in real estate and architectural millwork. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) and has a passion for boating and riding horses with her wonderful family.
