Brandon S. Finz

Brandon S. Finz has always had a strong desire to help those in need. Learning firsthand from the example set by his father, Stuart L. Finz, the Senior Trial Attorney and CEO of Finz & Finz, P.C. and one of New York’s most respected and well-known trial attorneys, and his grandfather, Leonard L. Finz, a former New York State Supreme Court Justice, Mr. Finz represents those who have suffered catastrophic injuries in a wide range of complex tort and medical malpractice litigation.

Since joining Finz & Finz, P.C. in 2020, Mr. Finz has secured tens of millions of dollars on behalf of the firm’s clients and plays a pivotal role in all aspects of the firm’s litigation practice, from case investigation through trial and resolution. He has led or played a key role in the successful resolution of numerous seven- and eight-figure cases, including:

• $50 million settlement for a motorcyclist who suffered a traumatic brain injury and partial paralysis after being struck by a commercial vehicle
• $40.3 million medical malpractice verdict involving the failure to properly diagnose and treat a stroke at two Long Island hospitals — the second-largest medical malpractice verdict in Nassau County history
• $6 million medical malpractice settlement involving the wrongful death of an office worker who received improper treatment from emergency medical services
• $4.6 million settlement for a pedestrian delivering building supplies who was struck by a tractor-trailer on a negligently designed roadway with a dangerously narrow lane
• $3.5 million medical malpractice settlement involving the failure to timely perform a C-section in a mother carrying monoamniotic-monochorionic twins, resulting in spastic cerebral palsy in one child
• $2.2 million settlement involving a school bus that ran over and killed a young child
• Plaintiff’s verdict against a Long Island municipality establishing reckless conduct by a snowplow operator that caused a collision and injuries to another motorist (case settled post-verdict)

Prior to joining Finz & Finz, P.C., Mr. Finz was an attorney at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms. While at Debevoise, Mr. Finz represented some of America’s leading corporations, private equity firms and hedge funds, including J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Blackstone, The Carlyle Group, KKR, Verizon, Westfield, WeWork, Pacific Life, Guardian Life, Discovery and International Paper, among others.

Although Mr. Finz was an accomplished attorney at a major Wall Street law firm, he always knew his true passion was representing individuals and families who need strong advocacy during the most difficult times of their lives. He utilizes the sophisticated litigation skills and strategic insight developed while representing Corporate America to maximize results for clients who have suffered severe and life-altering injuries due to the negligence of others.

Mr. Finz understands the importance of relentless preparation, strategic advocacy, and personal commitment to each client. He is dedicated to building strong attorney-client relationships and believes that trust, communication, and tireless effort are essential to achieving exceptional outcomes.

Mr. Finz received his Juris Doctor Cum Laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as a senior staff member of The Tax Lawyer, the nation’s premier peer-reviewed tax law journal. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration, with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship, from the University of Miami.

Mr. Finz has been recognized by New York Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star”, Best Lawyers as “One to Watch”, and Lawyers of Distinction for excellence in the practice of law. He is the author of “Uncertainty Will Persist: Perpetuating the Battle Over Natural Gas Taxation Through an Analysis of Missouri Gas v. Kansas Division of Property Valuation,” which was published by The Tax Lawyer.

When not working on behalf of his clients, Mr. Finz enjoys travelling, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and rooting for his favorite sports teams – the New York Mets, New York Knicks and Baltimore Ravens.
