On Christmas Eve, our client, a 68-year-old woman, went to the emergency room complaining of chest pain. It was discovered she had suffered a mild heart attack. Despite the diagnosis, she was not properly treated by the medical staff after her admission to a local Queens County hospital. Due to the failure of the doctors at the Queens hospital, our client suffered another heart attack during her admission. Our firm was critical of the care that she received and the hospital’s delay in pre-emptive diagnostic tests and medication which would have prevented the second heart attack. Fortunately, our client made a good recovery. After protracted litigation in Queens Supreme Court, Finz & Finz, P.C., forced the hospital and treating doctors to compensate our client in the sum of $500,000.
