It was specifically designed to minimize the effects of such a drug on the gastrointestinal systems of patients.

How does Celebrex Work?

The mechanism of Celebrex’s efficacy is akin to other NSAIDs, in that, it acts as a nonselective inhibitor of enzymes, specifically, cyclooxygenases, which catalyze to form prostaglandins, also known as “messenger molecules,” which facilitate the autoimmune reaction which naturally manifests in the body as inflammation. So, by inhibiting the molecules that, as messengers tell the body to react with inflammation, Celebrex, when effective, short-circuits the inflammatory process in the human body.

What are the Side-Effects of Celebrex?

The side-effects of Celebrex include, but are not limited to:

  • fever;
  • rash;
  • hives;
  • blisters;
  • swelling (in the lower legs, ankles, hands, feet, throat, face, and, tongue);

  • thrombosis (blood clots);
