Women Hit and Killed by Car While Helping at Long Island Accident Scene


CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – A woman was killed early Monday morning while attempting to help two motorists involved in a prior accident.

36-year-old Jennifer Burgess got out of her vehicle to assist a pair of fellow motorists at Suffolk Avenue near Casement Avenue in Central Islip. Burgess was truck by a passing vehicle, and was rushed to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The accident around around 5:40 AM.

No charges have been filed.
