28-year-old Mark Corrado Jr. surrendered to police in connection with the incident on Montauk Highway in Amagansett, authorities said. The woman, 36-year-old Yuris Murillo Cruz of Amagansett, died of her injuries. Her children, ages 1 and 4, were expected to recover but specific details on their injuries were not released. They were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital.
Police said Corrado kept going after the crash, continued onto Napeague Lane and Marine Boulevard, then abandoned the pickup truck in nearby woods and fled the area. The vehicle was later located by officers.
