STATEN ISLAND, NY – The NYC man accused of throwing his girlfriend off the hood of his car during a fight in Staten Island is speaking out about the incident.
As previously reported, the pair got into an argument at the intersection of Dubois and Egbert Avenues. The woman, Tierra Eddy, climbed onto the hood of the vehicle during the altercation. The boyfriend, Jahare Ford, then sped down the block at around 50 miles per hour, according to a witness. Eddy was thrown from the hood before Ford crashed into a nearby home, causing the porch roof to collapse.
Tierra Eddy was rushed to a nearby hospital but could not be saved.
Ford—who has been charged with driving while intoxicated, assault, and intoxication manslaughter—told investigators: “I couldn’t see where I was going ’cause she was on the windshield.” Ford is also reported as saying, “She’s blocking the windshield. I don’t know where to go . . . She was on the windshield. She’s trying to get into the car. I’m trying to tell her to stop.” He claims he never meant to kill her.
