Two Women Killed in Car-Train Collision in New Jersey


MIDDLESEX. NJ – Two women were killed when their vehicle was struck by a NJ Transit train around 8:10 a.m. on Friday morning. The train and the vehicle collided at the Cedar Avenue crossing in Middlesex, according to a NJ Transit service representative. The train had just departed from Newark and was on its way to High Bridge when it struck the vehicle.

The occupants, 73-year-old Florence Obado and 44-year-old Susan Mazurek, were pronounced dead at the scene. No one on the train was injured in the accident. The collision remains under investigation.
