Two Vehicle Crash In Bohemia Sends Two to Hospital

BOHEMIA, NY – A collision involving two SUVs in Bohemia sent two people to the hospital on Wednesday morning. According to police reports, a 51-year old man was driving his 2019 Chevy Tahoe southbound on Sycamore Avenue when he struck a 2017 Hyundai SUV heading northbound while making a left turn into a parking lot. The accident occurred shortly before 9:00 a.m. near the intersection of Sycamore Avenue and Veterans Memorial Highway.

As a result of the crash, the Tahoe overturned in the road, trapping the driver inside. The Bohemia Fire Department responded to the scene and used Hurst cutters to remove the roof of the vehicle and rescue the man trapped inside.

Both drivers were hospitalized for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. According to reports,the driver of the Chevrolet was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, and the other driver was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.
