Toddler Killed in Tragic Subway Accident at Fulton Street Station

NEW YORK, NY – A two year old was tragically killed in an accident at the Fulton Street subway station in Manhattan. According to witnesses, the child broke free from his mother’s grasp and became pinned between the edge of the platform and an uptown No. 2 train.

The victim was identified as two-year-old Shamari Anderson. The boy and his mother had been holiday shopping, which is why witnesses believe that the mother (who was holding shopping bags at the time of the incident) could not keep a firm grasp on the child. The two were heading back to Harlem to their temporary home in a homeless shelter.

Our thoughts are with the family of the victim.
