Three killed in crash on Cross County Parkway

MOUNT VERNON, NY –  Three people were killed in a crash on the Cross County Parkway in Mount Vernon early Friday morning.

According to news sources, Westchester County police are still investigating the cause of a crash that shut down the eastbound lanes of the parkway between New Rochelle Road and the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway for several hours.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at around 2:26 a.m. on Friday morning. First responders found a 16-year-old female passenger inside and a 22-year-old and 24-year-old man outside the wreckage of a blue Toyota in the parkway’s center lane. The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man from the Bronx, suffered only a minor injury to his hand and was treated and released from Westchester Medical Center.

The identities of the deceased have been withheld pending notification of the families. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims, and we will continue to monitor this developing story.
