BRIDGEPORT, CT – Two teenagers from Bridgeport were arrested in connection to a vehicle theft after crashing the stolen car on Sunday.

Authorities received a report of suspicious persons on Hale Street, and conducted a search to locate the vehicles in question. Vehicles matching the description were located on Greens Farms Road, and a chase ensued when one of them peeled off. An officer was able to find a registration plate on one of the two vehicles, and discovered it had been stolen from New York.

The suspects evaded capture and escaped onto Interstate 95, eventually crashing into a wooded area alongside the highway. Police apprehended a 15 and 16-year-old boy at the scene of the accident. They were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Both will be charged via juvenile summons with larceny and conspiracy offenses for the theft of the vehicle, as well as several motor vehicle violations.
