The incident occurred in the vicinity of Dudley Avenue and Edison Avenue in the Pelham Bay section of the borough on March 30. According to the NYPD, a 46-year-old man was riding his bicycle shortly after 2 p.m. when he was struck by a dark sedan at the intersection. The driver had gone through a stop sign just before the crash, police said.

The victim remains in critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center. His identity was not released.

Police said the driver initially fled the scene, returned and looked at the bicyclist, then left again. Surveillance video released Monday by the NYPD showed the vehicle believed to have been involved in the crash.

Anyone who recognizes the car or has any other information regarding the incident was asked to call Crime Stoppers.
