Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Motorcycle in Massapequa

MASSAPEQUA, NY – A 22-year-old man was riding a motorcycle on Merrick Road South in Massapequa on Friday night when he struck a 67-year-old man and another pedestrian who were crossing Merrick Road, near Glen Road, around 6:45 PM.

The 67-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition, while the other pedestrian was hospitalized in fair condition.

Following the accident, Merrick Road, between Unqua and Carman Mill Road, was closed for hours on Friday night. It finally reopened before 11 PM.
