One Killed in Wreck on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway

QUEENS, NY – A 35-year-old man was tragically killed in a car crash on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway around 8:15 PM on Monday night.

The man, Jesse McCalip, was attempting to merge into the far right lane when he was rear-ended by a passing Dodge Charger. McCalip’s Hyundai flipped over and slammed into a nearby concrete wall on the side of the freeway. The accident occurred near the freeway’s Queens exit.

McCalip was rushed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Charger remained on the scene and no charges have been filed.
