NYPD Tow Truck Driver Dead After Suspected Medical Episode Causes Crash


BROOKLYN, NY – A 61-year-old police tow truck driver is dead after a single-vehicle accident in Brooklyn, according to authorities. The accident happened shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Flatbush Avenue near Avenue R in Marine Park. NYPD officials say the driver potentially suffered a heart attack while driving, causing him to veer off the roadway, mount a curb, and hit a tree.

According to the New York Post, the driver, Anthony Edgehill, was transported to Mount Sinai in Brooklyn in serious condition and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
