Motorcyclist Killed in Dump Truck Collision

BRONX, NY – A man died on Sunday night after his motorcycle crashed into the side of a dump truck in the Bronx.

The collision occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on August 9, according to 1010 Wins. A Honda CR80 motorcycle was traveling south on Boston Road near Waring Avenue. A dump truck was turning onto Waring Avenue when the motorcycle crashed into the side of the truck. The force of the collision threw the rider off of the motorcycle and onto the street.

When officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD) arrived to assist, they found the motorcyclist unconscious and unresponsive. The rider appeared to have sustained significant head trauma during the collision. Emergency medical personal pronounced the rider dead on the scene of the accident. At this time, the police have not released any personal information about the rider.

The 27-year-old dump truck driver was uninjured in the crash. The truck driver remained on the scene after the accident and cooperated with the police during their investigation.

At this time, the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad is working to determine the cause of the crash.
