BRONX, N.Y. – A motorcyclist crashed into a minivan driven by an unlicensed motorist in the Bronx on Aug. 29 and died of his injuries two days later, the Daily News reported.

Police say Quejuan Franco was riding his new motorcycle the wrong direction on Waterbury Avenue in Westchester Square at approximately 4:15 a.m. when he collided head-on with a minivan near Seabury Avenue.

Franco had recently celebrated his 19th birthday.

Police said the minivan driver had strayed dangerously close to the center yellow lines when he collided with Franco. The driver, Richard Alvarez, 28, initially fled the scene, but later surrendered to police. He did not have a license.

Alvarez faces leaving the accident scene and driving without a license charges.
