BRONX, NY – Police are searching for the driver who struck a cyclist at Rosedale Avenue and the Bruckner Expressway at about 10 a.m. Friday and then fled the scene. The cyclist was knocked unconscious and had to be taken to a nearby hospital, according to authorities.

Police said that the driver of a white car struck a 25-year-old cyclist near the intersection of Rosedale Ave. and Bruckner Boulevard, then sped off. Paramedics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital with possible fractures of the arm and leg.

While overall cycling injuries have declined about 2% across the city relative to the same time period last year, the Bronx has seen an explosion in such injuries this year, up more than 35% over 2019 to date.
