PERTH AMBOY, NJ – Three people—including an eight-year-old baby—were killed in a car wreck in Perth Amboy on Friday night, according to authorities.
38-year-old Patrick Monahan, a Staten Island resident, was driving aggressively and speeding when he collided with a Ford minivan on Convery Boulevard around 6:30 PM.
Two other passengers in the minivan were pronounced dead at the scene. The eight-month-old was airlifted to the hospital but passed away the following day.
Monahan has been charged with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide, and aggravated assault. Because he was out visiting friends during Governor Murphy’s order restricting non-essential activities, he was also charged with violating various public health regulations.
