KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN, NY – The NYPD is investigating an accident that killed a pedestrian in Brooklyn, amNewYork reports.
The victim was struck Monday morning at the intersection of 18th Avenue and East 2nd Street in the Kensington section of the borough. According to investigators, 65-year-old Adilova Rahima was walking across 18th Avenue at about 10:25 a.m. when she was hit by an Infiniti SUV that was making a left turn from East 2nd Street.
Rahima was transported to Maimonides Hospital after being found unresponsive. She was listed in critical condition and was pronounced dead from her injuries on Tuesday. Police said she was about ten minutes from her home on Ocean Parkway when the incident occurred.
The 23-year-old man who was driving the SUV remained at the scene of the crash. He was administered a breathalyzer test. No charges have been announced so far.
