BROOKLYN, NY – Police said four people were injured, one critically, when their vehicle crashed in southern Brooklyn on Friday night, amNewYork reports.

The accident happened along Ocean Parkway near Avenue X in the Gravesend section of the borough.  According to investigators, a 19-year-old man was driving a BMW south at high speed at about 9 p.m. when he collided with another vehicle that was turning left onto Avenue X.  The impact sent the BMW toward the curb and then into a traffic light pole.

A 22-year-old man who was a passenger in the BMW was taken to NYU Langone Health, where he was listed in critical condition.  The driver and two other passengers, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, were hospitalized at Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 45-year-old man, was not injured in the wreck.   He remained at the scene afterwards.  So far there have been no arrests.
