Our client, an 83-year-old Manhattan resident was stepping off of a New York City Transit bus when she fell to the street, injuring her leg and hip. As part of the investigation into the case, the attorneys at Finz & Finz, P.C., discovered that the bus driver had not pulled the bus close enough to the curb, and failed to lower the bus so the elderly woman could step off safely. After hard fought litigation and trial preparation, Finz & Finz, P.C., attorneys were ready for trial. Not satisfied with the minimal offer presented to our client for her injuries, the offer by the MTA was rejected and jury selection was set to begin. The Transit Authority, recognizing that Finz & Finz, P.C., attorney was fully prepared for trial and confident in his position, Transit reluctantly agreed to a settlement in the sum of $375,000, and our client walked away a winner.
