Woman struck in hit-and-run crash dies of injuries

ISLIP, NY- A Long Island woman who was injured in a hit-and-run accident last month has succumbed to her injuries, according to the Nassau Daily Voice.
The crash occurred on February 10, when 74-year-old Mary Barbato was walking on Moffit Boulevard and was hit by a passing vehicle. The driver of the car fled the scene. Barbato was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition. She died of her injuries on Tuesday night, almost a month after the accident.
The alleged driver, 78-year-old Edward Kadir, was arrested a few days after the accident. He has been charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with serious injury.
