(NEW YORK, January 2020) — A driver and her passenger were awarded $320,000 for injuries they sustained after being hit on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn in 2016. Ilene DeGregorio was driving westbound on the parkway when she was hit by a 2002 Honda driven by Abdelhadi Elhashash.
Elhashash told police that his brakes locked up, causing him to rear-end DeGregorio's Nissan. Both women in DeGregorio's vehicle suffered knee, ankle, and back injuries — requiring pain injections and surgery.
The women then sued for payment of their damages and were awarded the $320,000 to pay for their medical bills.
