UPDATE: Victims identified in wreck on Southern State Parkway in Islip

(LONG ISLAND, January 2020) — The victims in a crash on Southern State Parkway in Islip have now been identified. According to authorities, Ismael Jefferson of Hempstead was driving his Infiniti sedan westward on the parkway when he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a tree in a center median.

Jefferson and two passengers in his car, 22-year-old Tony Porter of Westbury and 19-year-old Ja-Asia Hasty of Hempstead, were all killed in the crash. Another passenger, 21-year-old Jeneyah Cruz, was hospitalized.
