Teenage driver killed, passenger injured in single-vehicle accident in Rocky Point

(LONG ISLAND, December 2019) — A Patchouge teen was killed in a car accident on North Country Road near Route 25A around 10 PM Monday night. According to authorities, the driver, Robert Permenter, was traveling down the road in a 1995 BMW when he swerved off the road, crashing into a tree. He was transported to the nearby Stony Brook University Hospital where he was declared dead. A 17-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims.
