Pedestrian killed while crossing Route 25A in Shoreham

(LONG ISLAND, January 2020) — An unidentified woman was hit while attempting to cross Route 25A in Shoreham on Sunday night. Following the crash, she was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the car that hit her, 36-year-old Paula Avent of Rocky Point, remained at the scene and was uninjured. Anyone with information about the crash should contact the Suffolk County Police's Seventh Squad at 613-852-8752.
