Nassau County police officer hospitalized after collision in Franklin Square

(NEW YORK, December 2019) — A police officer was injured following an accident in Franklin Square on Tuesday afternoon. A Nassau County police cruiser slammed into a Lexus SUV near James Street and Hempstead Turnpike while responding to a call. Both vehicles were significantly damaged in the crash. 

The police officer was transported to the hospital for leg and shoulder pain, while the driver of the SUV refused medical attention at the scene. Authorities are not yet sure which party was responsible for the crash.
