Driver pulls out weapon, shoots at officers after car accident in Long Island

(LONG ISLAND, December 2019) — A Volvo driving down Middle Country Road hit a Nissan Pathfinder around 8:30 p.m. on Monday night. When authorities arrived at the scene, the driver of the Volvo jumped out of his vehicle and fled on foot. When police officers pursued him, he pulled out a gun and began firing at them. According to official sources, the police returned fire, but were not able to apprehend him at the scene.
