Child struck by car when taking out the trash in Flatbush

FLATBUSH, NY- A nine-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle when he was taking out the trash in his Flatbush neighborhood Friday morning. Around 12:45 AM, the child went outside, ran into the street, and was hit and trapped underneath Infiniti sedan near Flatbush Avenue and Avenue D.
First responders were able to extricate the boy from underneath the vehicle. He was transported to Maimonides Hospital where he is reportedly in stable condition. The driver of the Infinity remained on the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.
