(NEW YORK, December 2019) — A woman crashed into a mailbox on Bluejay Street in the Village of Chestnut Ridge early Thursday morning. The woman's car flipped over onto its side after slamming into the mailbox. According to law enforcement, the 61-year-old woman was driving with ice on her windshield. Ramapo Police Officer Michael Higgins said, "I believe the driver was in a rush. She tried de-thawing it from inside the vehicle and, I believe, grew impatient and left."
Authorities were able to help the woman get out of her car with only minor injuries. Police wrote her several tickets for operating her vehicle with an obstructed view.
